macOS Sierra is ready to assist you, so you can do more with it. Siri comes to macOS with new capabilities designed just for the desktop. macOS helps you rediscover your best photos, shop online more easily and securely, and work more seamlessly across your devices. It can even upload all your files to iCloud and free up valuable storage space automatically. You can easily get things done by talking to Siri. Helpful features of Siri on iOS are now on Mac, along with new ones designed just for the desktop. Ask Siri to send messages, search the web, find files, adjust settings, and more. You can also drag and drop, copy, or pin Siri results. Memories automatically creates stunning collections of photos, based on people, places, holidays, and more—so you can rediscover meaningful photos. The People album organizes your photos by the people in them, and Places shows your photos on a world map. Now you can intelligently search images by objects and scenes within them. Now you can store your Documents folder and Desktop in iCloud Drive and access all your files from your iPhone, iPad, Mac, or PC and on iCloud.com. So you can save files where you normally do and they’re automatically uploaded, with no need to drag them into iCloud Drive first. Optimized Storage helps you make more room on your Mac. When space is low, it automatically stores old files, photos, movies, and email attachments in the cloud and makes them available on demand. Files you recently created and optimized photos stay on your Mac so they’re there when you need them. You can also easily find and remove files or apps. With new effects you can send expressive messages and liven up your conversations. Send huge emoji, tap back with hearts or thumbs-up on a message bubble, play YouTube videos, and preview links right in a conversation. And receive stickers, see Digital Touch, and get messages that are written by hand or in invisible ink from friends on their iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. The all-new Apple Music design in iTunes makes it even simpler to find favorite songs and discover new ones. The For You tab suggests new music you’ll love. Use the Browse tab to discover exclusives, new releases, top charts, and curated playlists from Apple Music editors. And view lyrics while you listen with the refined MiniPlayer. Now you can keep windows organized with Tabs. They work just as they do in Safari—but now work in almost every app on your Mac, and many third-party apps as well. Easily flip through Pages documents in full screen. Or browse multiple Maps locations without losing your place. Multitask on your Mac while watching your favorite videos from a Picture in Picture window. You can float a video window from Safari or iTunes over your desktop or a fullscreen app. Play the video in any corner of your desktop, and resize the window to see more or less of what’s behind it. When you walk up to your Mac while wearing your Apple Watch, you’ll be automatically logged in to your desktop. Because you authenticate your Apple Watch when you put it on, there’s no need to type in a password if you’re nearby. Copy and paste now works across your devices when they’re near each other. There are no special instructions, just copy images, video, or text from an app on one device. Then paste into another app on a different device.
