You’ve loved it, protected it, taken it to places it could have only dreamed, but it’s time. Time to trade in your beloved iPhone or iPad, and save money when you upgrade to a new one.

The beauty about trading in your previous generation iPhone or iPad for any new iPhone or iPad is that it’s simple and we’ll take you through a step-by-step process to ensure that you and your new device are united to tackle any adventure that comes your way.

But before we take you through the process, did you know that you can get up to ₦83 000* for your iPhone 6 for instance. This can be used toward a new Apple product when you trade in at iStore?

Here’s how to get started:

Step 1: Visit http://myistore.com.ng/iphone-trade-in/ and click on the “Click here to claim voucher” button on the page.

Step 2: Fill in all your details. Once you’ve completed the form you will be sent an email with your trade-in voucher.

Step 3: Decide on the day you’re ready to trade in your current iPhone or iPad for a new one. Then take your voucher with you to any iStore and redeem it for your new device. Before you trade in your new device, ensure you:

1. Back up your data – You may already have your iPhone or iPad set up to automatically sync to iCloud. You can never be too careful with data and it’s a good idea to make a manual backup of the data on your iPhone or iPad as well. You can create a backup using iTunes.

2. Perform a factory reset – The reset will wipe the iPhone or iPad, deleting your personal data and any apps you’ve installed. It will also reset the phone back to its default state. Go to “Settings,” select “General,” then “Reset.” From there, select “Erase All Content and Settings.”

3. Change account passwords – For extra protection, change important passwords that you may have saved to your iPhone or iPad. The factory reset of the iPhone or iPad should remove any saved passwords along with your data, but we recommend customers take this extra precaution. You may also want to ensure that your iPhone or iPad is removed from any services, like Find My iPhone via iCloud.com, or as part of the two-factor authorisation in your Google Account if you set it up.

*Trade-in value is dependent on evaluation done in store and is subject to change
